Izumi Hasegawa has been a Hollywood-based entertainment journalist for over ten years and is the founder of the wire news company HollywoodNewsWire.net. She was nominated Entertainment Journalist of the Year at the 51st Annual Southern California Journalist Awards and recently won their Critic/Columnist Award. Before coming to America, Izumi was already an established broadcaster in her native Japan.
She is an Ambassador of her hometown and Shimane prefecture, which is known around the world as the hometown of Japanese myth-making and artistic storytelling. The region, on Honshu island, is also the birthplace of Sake and the homebase of Kabuki theater. Vistors flock to the Samurai castle, pyramid, a famous shrine, and the silver mine which inspired Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke. King Ghidorah which is a character in Godzilla, is based on the monster who used to live this area in Japanese myth.
Izumi’s parents manage the Shinto Shrine in Shimane, Shusse Inari Jinja, and Ms. Hasegawa is also fully licensed as a Shinto Priest. When visiting her parents’ in Jpana, she performs traditional Shinto ceremonies. Then, once she is back in America, she interviews famous people in Los Angeles...
