Born and raised in the Midlands of England, Stefan Goldby entered the US music industry as a college radio DJ in deepest Ohio at the tender age of 17.
After stints as both a radio and club DJ back in the UK, Stefan returned to America in 1996, joining the Music Link Productions team in Denver, Colorado. He spent 7 years and won 9 Billboard Awards as Program Director for the Music Link family of TV shows and as Senior Producer for the company’s highly successful original production work for artists including Norah Jones, Incubus, N*E*R*D, Nelly Furtado, David Gray, 311, System of a Down, Blur and Papa Roach. During that time, Stefan also served as a Retail Videoplay consultant for National Video Subscriptions, a Producer for Cinergi Productions’ X Music Network and, as an Executive Producer, he helped form the Los Angeles-based Red Eye Network of late-night music TV shows which ultimately was acquired by Launch.com.
Goldby was a member of the founding team at maniaTV, beginning as Head of Music Programming at the company’s 2004 launch and ascending to Vice President of Programming by 2007. He spent the last five years creating and co-creating more than 40 different shows in the Music, Gaming, Comedy, Hollywood and Action Sports genres while also leading the buildout both of maniaTV’s original 10,000ft2 Denver studio and also their subsequent Los Angeles 20,000ft2 studio facility at the southern tip of Hollywood. On a day to day basis, Stefan oversaw mania’s programming slate, production team and content partnerships, and also served as Executive Producer for both Tom Green Live and Dave Navarro’s Spread TV.
Stefan recently has been providing online content creation, development and distribution leadership on a consultant basis through Chemistry Productions, the company he co-founded with his wife Christine in 2004 and who have Sony, Toyota, Motorola, Sega, Apple, Disney, Almay, Joss Whedon, Jennifer Lopez and Dave Matthews amongst their lengthy client list.
