Roslyn Bernstein is a professor of Journalism and Creative Writing at Baruch College, CUNY where she serves as the director of The Sidney Harman Writer-in-Residence Program. Her journalism has appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Newsday, The Columbia Journalism Review, and New York Magazine. In 2009, she published Boardwalk Stories, a collection of linked tales set during the 1950s-1970s. Her latest book, co-authored with Shael Shapiro, is Illegal Living: 80 Wooster Street and the Evolution of SoHo, a biography of the first successful artist coop building in SoHo, created by Fluxus founder George Maciunas.
