Izumi Hasegawa is the founder of the wire news company HollywoodNewsWire.net and has been an entertainment journalist for over ten years in US. She was nominated Entertainment of the Year at the 51stAnnual Southern California Journalist Awards beside ABC and LA Times reporters, and won a Critic/Columnist Award. Before she moved to the US, she had been a broadcaster for over ten years in Japan.

 

She is an Ambassador of her hometown, Shimane prefecture, where is mostly known as the hometown of Japanese myth. Shimane has the other name of the region as Izumo. It is also the birthplace of Sake and the hometown of creator of Kabuki. There is a Samurai castle, Pyramid, famous shrine, and silver mine which inspired Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke. King Ghidorah which is a character in Godzilla, is based on the monster who used to live this area in Japanese myth.

 

Izumi’s parents are running Shinto Shrine, Shusse Inari Jinja, and she also has a license as a Shinto Priest. When she visits her parents’ home, she performs a Shinto ceremony, which is very traditional in Japan. Then, once she is back in LA, she interviews people in Hollywood.
