Andrew Shaw was born and raised in England. His career started seriously with the publication of two poetry collections. He won a couple of prestigious awards, and some work was translated into Japanese. For two years he served as the Poet In Residence at the Swan Theatre (UK). He also vaguely remembers a brief period in which he sat on uncomfortable chairs at the BBC, puzzling over scripts. Having lived in several countries around the world, seeking the meaning of life in rainforests and a Himalayan monastery, he settled for a while in New Zealand, where a TV comedy was developed and dropped due to budget cuts and “The Man’s” fear of satire. Thankfully, he found an outlet in the country's best-read magazine with a regular humor column named "Rantology" in which he set sights on Pop-Culture. He also enjoyed contributing music reviews, interviews, and features whilst arguing with a narcoleptic editor. Passions include shouting at European football, trying to listen to every piece of music ever recorded, and explaining the rare brevity of life. Interests include tea-drinking.
