New Massive Attack Album
'Heligoland' Announced

Since Massive Attack materialized inside the British electronic music scene with their 1991 debut Blue Lines, they have consistently sought to create something that challenged notions of what people expect from a band with a solid synth core.
Their amorphous approach triggered a catalog of work which would effectively create a soundtrack to a modern and foggy London lifestyle played in near slow-motion, and launch a new genre called Trip Hop.
Seven years after their last release, the duo, consisting of Robert Del Naja (3D) and Grand Marshall (Daddy G), will release their highly anticipated follow-up to 2003’s Danny the Dog. Like past releases, the album, titled Heligoland, will feature an ensemble cast of guest musicians ranging from Gorillaz front-man Damon Albarn, Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval, and Adrian Utley of Portishead.
In support of the new release, tentatively set for February, 9 2010, the band has created three NSFW videos in support of the first single, “Paradise Circus,” featuring Hope Sandoval. The videos themselves star former porn starlet Georgina Spelvin describing a sexual encounter that occurred over 40 years ago, which she claims to be the greatest of her life.
Not at work? Good. We wouldn’t want Mr. Lumbergh catching you in the act.
