Celebrity spottings are happening all week in New York City, between Fashion Week and the VMAs. The Olsen twins bartended at Bergdorff’s as part of Fashion’s Night Out, and Lady Gaga crawled the red carpet with her baby sister at Radio City…but there is one new celebrity from the bunch whose style seems to captivate – Taylor Momsen. Taylor was spotted this week at Fashion’s Night Out playing with her band Pretty Reckless at the Teen Vogue Block Party in the West Village.

Lien Ta is the managing editor at Hollywood.com. In a day, she sees thousand of photos of celebrities, and from those thousands, the ones of Taylor rose to the top. “I think she isn’t an obvious choice. People usually choose to model their style after someone like Charlize Theron, but Taylor is a fresh face.”

Taylor, 15, is currently on the CW’s hit show, Gossip Girl, but her first movie dates back to 1999, and other projects include How the Grinch Stole Christmas, in which she starred as Cindy Lou Who.

“Her fashion is daring and fun and provides examples of some of the biggest fall trends,” Ta said. Taylor is a big fan of the leather jacket — a perfect tribute piece to the late King of Pop. Keep the jacket cropped and pair it with a short dress or a skirt.

While Taylor loves leather, she can also be seen in an oversized vest. These are made in a variety of materials and can be dressed up or worn with skinny jeans. Ta added, “If a person can only purchase one item this season, make it a big furry vest. It can add pizzazz to any outfit, and it is one of the more hidden trends of fall.”

Finally, flannel. Taylor sports the flannel shirt blazer-style. She is great at layering and accessorizing.

Runners-up for the best fall style included Sienna Miller and Zooey Deschanel. Whether picking from the A-listers or choosing a celeb of your choice, Ta said, “The trick to mimicking celebrity style is to choose someone you feel confident about, and feel comfortable in your clothes.”
