TOMY’s Party Fun Pirate
On the Nintendo Wii

TOMY’s popular Pop-Up Pirate! game makes its video game debut as Party Fun Pirate. In the video game, players take on the role of pirate shipmates playing a dangerous game with their black-bearded captain who is trapped inside a barrel. The players must plunge swords into the barrel through holes without causing harm to the captain. The player that pierces the captain loses, causing the captain to fly out of the barrel. Up to four players can compete in the standard mode. For solo players, TOMY included a single-player mode that challenges players to discover the bad holes in the barrel within a set amount of time.
The game captures all the fun of its physical counterpart, allowing the player(s) to rotate the barrel with the directional pad. The video game version, however, provides tropical settings to really give young players a lighthearted sense of pirate life. As a nice touch, players can substitute their Mii avatar for the captain in the barrel. Parents looking for an inexpensive way to get their small child into video games may find their solution here. Additionally, having the video game version of the physical toy ensures a clutter-free floor and that none of the smaller pieces will get sucked into the vacuum cleaner.
Party Fun Pirate is a simple and fun game that the whole family can enjoy at any age and is currently available for digital download on the Nintendo Wii’s WiiWare for 500 Nintendo points.
