Five posters from the new movie The Spirit, signed by filmmaker Frank Miller and actors Eva Mendes, Scarlet Johansson, Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, and Dan Lauria, plus an additional six-poster package that includes a cast-signed poster, are part of a new charity auction that has gone live on eBay.

The auction of various items also includes a collectible Spirit snow globe, action figure, and limited edition coffee table book. All the proceeds will benefit the The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. All items will be sent with a signed letter verifying their authenticity.

The auctions will continue through the weekend, ending December 26, 2008.  Interested fans and collectors should be aware there are only a limited amount of posters and items available.

The Spirit was created by the late Will Eisner. The new movie is a Frank Miller film.

Created by Comics graphic novel pioneer Will Eisner in the 1940s, The Spirit first appeared as a comic book section in various newspapers all over the USA and as a daily strip.  A revival started in the 1970s when Warren Publications, followed by Kitchen Sink, began re-publishing those classic stories in magazine-size issues.  The Spirit has been hailed for its cinematic visuals and storylines.

Comics creator and filmmaker Frank Miller (The Dark Knight Returns, Sin City, 300) now brings Will Eisner’s The Spirit to the big screen.
