Hollywood, California – The imagination of designers Steve and Kristine Kim were on display on the rooftop lounge of Kress on Hollywood Boulevard December 4th, as models paced the catwalk to display the visionary collection of the Laguna Beach Jean Co.

Selling a unique brand of jeans, tops, hats, and other accessories since November 2007, the Laguna Beach Jean Co. celebrated its one-year anniversary with an invite-only fashion show overlooking the heart of Hollywood on a chilly Thursday night.

“Our collection has been growing,” said Kristine Kim, who helped establish the upscale clothing label with her husband Steve. “We first started off with denim. Now we are going to expand our collection to include hoodies, T-shirts, and jackets. We’re also coming out with our shoe line next year.”

About 200 invited guests cheered on each model as they donned some of Laguna Beach Jean Co.’s hottest styles during a 30-minute fashion show, followed by an after-party with music played by KIIS-FM’s DJ Shy.

Several models wore portions of the expanded wardrobe with pride and confidence, as the Kims designed what they state is the first Orange County-inspired high-end denim and apparel line. Both Steve and Kristine Kim hail from the OC, and each piece of clothing they designed was inspired by the popular beach enclave about 45 miles southwest of Hollywood.

While based in downtown Los Angeles’s Garment District, the hip apparel line was specifically designed to reflect the “sun, surf & sand” culture of south Orange County, as each design in the collection is named after a Southern California beach and offers a variety of washes, pocket designs, and embellishments.

An example of unique clothing line names include:

• Long Beach Black Denim (Men’s Jeans)
• Manhattan Beach Titanium Collection (Men’s Jeans)
• Sunset Beach Denim Skirts (Women’s)

“For someone who has been around for only one year, they have real good style,” said Britney Boyd, who emceed the fashion show. “Their jeans are flashy. You can wear it during the day or at a club at night.”

Despite its Orange County roots, the Laguna Beach Jean Co. has provided handmade designer clothing for some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Snoop Dogg, Britney Spears, and the cast of the new Beverly Hills 90210. In addition to its star-studded clientele and Orange County roots, the Laguna Beach Jean Co. prides itself for shying away from jean factories and hand-making its entire clothing line.

Clothing is available for men, women, and children.

The current line of Laguna Beach Jean Co. clothing may be found at one of more than 500 boutiques nationwide or via several online retailers; two signature stores are due to open soon.
