Cherry Bomb: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Better Flirt, a Tougher Chick, and a Hotter Girlfriend–and to Living Life Like a Rock Star
Simon Spotlight Entertainment

Former Billboard and All-Star News Editor Carrie Borzillo-Vrenna has come up with a semi-tongue-in-cheek look at how to live the rock ‘n’ roll life today, from fashion to dating, and carnal pursuit too. Is it all tongue-in-cheek? You decide. It’s an amusing read — the kind of book you can look at for a bit and put away, plus it’s loaded with guest-star commentaries by the likes of Betsey Johnson, burlesque darling Dita Von Teese, tat queen Kat Von D., Lisa Loeb, Tori Amos, and more. Guys might flip through and scoff and snort, but we’re supposed to.

On The Road With The Ramones
Bobcat Books

An updated edition of true road tales and anecdotes by Monte A. Melnick — Ramones tour manager from their New York club days in the ’70s to their farewell jaunts in 1996. Co-written by Frank Meyer, there are revealing looks at the various Ramones: Joey, Johnny, DeeDee, Tommy, Marky, and CJ, plus the crews, from the excess and fights to breakups, arrests, drug troubles, female troubles, fans, and a now-legendary punk band that made rock ‘n’ roll history. For any true punk fan.

New York Dolls: Photographs by Bob Gruen
Abrams Images

The New York Dolls were punk rock godfathers and garage-rockers, before the term existed, who influenced numerous bands that followed. Now-legendary photographer (and writer) Bob Gruen ( John Lennon: The New York Years) was there for it all — the madness and the mayhem created by frontman David Johansen, guitarists Johnny Thunders and Sylvain Sylvain, drummer Jerry Nolan, and bassist Arthur “Killer” Kane. This book, in Dolls’ pink hardcover, features 200 shots with notes by Gruen, interviews with surviving band members, plus an afterward by Morrissey. Gruen also co-directed All Dolled Up, a definitive documentary on the band that shouldn’t be missed.
