AMC Hoping For Trifecta
With New Political Thriller
"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm Cable channel AMC is on fire right now, and they’re hoping to capitalize on it while the capitalizin’ is good.
Mad Men, a 1960 period drama about an advertising agency, put the station back on the map, what with its 16 Emmy nominations (and if you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and get Season 1 – it’s out on DVD). And let’s not forget Breaking Bad, the meth-centric show that garnered four nominations. That tallies up to an impressive – and record-tying – 20 nominations.
Based on that success, they’re launching a new show by Jason Horowitch, the force behind NBC’s Medical Investigation. The as-of-yet unnamed project will revolve around a shadowy secret organization that is secretly controlling the world and a think-tank analyst who starts to unravel the mystery.
No firm air dates have been announced for this new political thriller, although word is production begins in October.
