“Desperate Housewives” Ending
May Only Have One More Year
Eva Longoria
Teri Hatcher
Marcia Cross
Felicity Huffman Creator/producer Marc Cherry claims he will kill the show after its seventh season. In the meantime, things are heating up for the upcoming episodes.
Those goofy gals on Wisteria Lane may only have one more year to solve their lives and sub-plots. Show creator Marc Cherry, along with his five hot leading ladies, discussed the show’s future at a Television Critics Association meeting Thursday.
“I love working with these gals, but the idea of letting anyone else take the show from me kind of makes me sad and sick to my stomach,” Cherry said. “We’re going to get out while people still like us.”
The domestic comedy-drama starring Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria begins its fifth season this fall. Cherry claims he will end the show after its seventh season.
Cherry did offer some peeks at the upcoming shows, including that the new season’s mystery will revolve around newcomer Neil McDonough, the romantic interest for neighborhood harlot Edie Brit (Nicolette Sheridan). “He’s bringing a mystery with him,” Cherry teased, “and he wants revenge on his mother.” McDonough’s character’s romantic involvement with Brit means that, even though she was kicked off the street at the end of last season, the rabble-rouser is coming back. “Edie will come back to Wisteria Lane in a very surprising way,” Cherry said. “We’re not telling you any more than that.” Sheridan, however, piped up: Her return “will be hot.”
