“Batman: The Brave & the Bold”

Warner Bros. animation’s new Batman series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, is slated to premiere on Cartoon Network in Fall 2008 and is being previewed at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

The new program is not just named for the DC Comics title that featured Batman.  It is teamed with numerous other heroes – usually one at a time – and recently revived as the comic featuring other team-ups as well. The look of the show is different that the noir-retro Batman: The Animated Series and the more modern-looking The Batman (seasons of both shows on Warner Home Video DVDs, of course!). This time, it’s a very “silver age” of comics late-’50s/early-’60s look to Batman and his guest stars, which will include Aquaman, Green Arrow, Plastic Man, The Blue Beetle, The Red Tornado, and many more, surely.

The half-hour series is executive-produced by Sam Register, and produced by James Tucker (Justice League, Justice League Unlimited) and Linda M. Steiner. Michael Jelenic is story editor, and animation directors are Ben Jones, Brandon Veitti, and Michael Chang. Line Producer is Amy McKenna.
