As Bollywood continues to break ground and enter unchartered territory, two new developments occurred that took Mumbai’s super-duper film industry to another level when Hollywood stud Sylvester Stallone committed to play himself in the upcoming blockbuster Kambakth Ishq, sources confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

He is the second muscle man to join the production, joining Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming movie almost five months to the date that Stallone’s 80s Hollywood competitor, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, reportedly agreed to make an appearance.

Stallone’s announcement did not get all the glory Tuesday. Officials also confirmed that portions of the movie’s production will take place in Hollywood’s backyard – Universal Studios, also a first in Indian cinema.

According to Nadiadwala, he plans to feature nine Hollywood actors as the film will be shot throughout portions of Los Angeles and Southern California.

Additionally, Beyonce Knowles reportedly agreed to perform a song on the film’s soundtrack.

Joining Nadiadwala on the set is newbie director Sabir Khan, who will bark directions to mega-stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. In the film, Akshay Kumar plays a Hollywood stuntman.

Pre-production started in Los Angeles in February. According to the filmmaker this will be the biggest and most expensive production in Bollywood history.

No release date for the movie was announced, though all signs indicate it will be in 2008.
