“Arrested Development” Flick Confirmed
Cult Show Finally Revived
Jason Bateman (Getty Images) In case you missed it, Jason Bateman, of Arrested Development and the upcoming Will Smith summer blockbuster Hancock, did a little appearance on NBC’s Keith Olbermann, where he revealed that there is officially an Arrested Development film in the works!
The Fox show was critically acclaimed and earned many accolades throughout the press but couldn’t muster the ratings to sustain it, fizzling out after only three seasons (the third one being cut short) on the air. The show has retained a growing cult following and has refused to die, sparking speculation that it would be revived–speculation that it appears to finally be substantiated.
While there had been mention of a film in the past, Bateman is now confirming the project to be in the works.
You can watch the video from the show here. As a bonus, David Cross did a little surprise guest appearance.
