No Vanity Fair Oscar
Hollywoods Biggest Party Cancelled
Vanity Fair Hollywood’s most glamorous and exclusive party of the year, Vanity Fair magazine’s famous Oscar party, has been cancelled–reportedly over the writers’ strike.
A spokesman for the New York-based magazine said, “After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party. We want to congratulate all of this year´s nominees, and we look forward to hosting our 15th Oscar party next year.”
Vanity Fair wouldn’t say how much money it’s losing by canceling the party so close to showtime, but said, “much of the materials that have been ordered can be used next year.”
The writers’ strike has already caused the cancellation of the Golden Globes–and this is the latest casualty.
