As though poor Britney Spears does not have enough troubles, publicity hungry Dr. Phil McGraw made an unannounced visit to her hospital room in a furtive attempt to administer psychological intervention - as well as to lure the troubled pop diva onto his television show. The egg-headed TV shrink had nothing but egg on his face when Britney got upset and threw him right out. McGraw claims he was there on behest of Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, who recently sold her 16-year-old daughter Jamie-Lynne’s pregnancy story to the tabloids. Lynne Spears was also to appear on Dr. Phil’s television show the next day with her husband Jaime Spears, to discuss Britney, but a wave of public resentment caused the event to be cancelled.

Britney has apparently been under the influence of psychiatric drugs, as her life and career have spun further and further downwards since her divorce from Kevin Federline in 2006. According to reports, there were no “non-legal” drugs or alcohol found in her system when she was admitted to the psych ward of the Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, raving and strapped to a gurney - but one certainly wonders what “legal” drugs we’re swimming in her brain at the time.

What a pitiful waste of youth and talent! We only hope that this troubled woman - who just lost custody of her two infant boys - can find better help and advise in the future.
