A Dan Band Christmas
Ho
www.thedanband.com
Known for taking hit songs from over the decades and transforming them with polar-opposite arrangements and such, this time out, The Dan Band offers up a bunch of holiday originals–most of them rude or outrageous and definitely not family-friendly. There’s the lead off “I Wanna Rock U Hard This X-Mas,” then “Ho Ho Ho,” which is not about Santa–and take a guess who da “ho” is. In “Christmas Time in California,” the Santa-gets-a-sunstroke cliches are trotted out, while “Christmaskwanzkah” comes up with another way to wish everyone season’s greetings, no matter what their celebration of choice.
Wreck the Halls
Holiday Tribute to Green Day
Holiday Tribute to Metallica
Holiday Tribute to AC/DC
Christmas Rock Records
The most familiar tunes by Green Day, Metallica, and AC/DC get seasonal melodies with mixed results, though many tracks are sure to bring smiles, as songs such as “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” “Welcome to Paradise,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “The Unforgiven” mutate into Christmas faves. Very strange and odd at times, but certainly a different take on the usual songs heard ’round this time of year.
