Collecting his solo and collaborative recordings outside The Rolling Stones, The Very Best of Mick Jagger was recently released, as the rock icon has launched his new website at MickJagger.com. The 17-track retrospective goes as far back as his 1970 classic slide-driven “Memo for Turner,” from the film Performance (a track that’s still one his best ever), and wraps up with his 2004 song for the film Alfie.
For the most part, the set draws from Jagger’s four solo albums, various soundtrack contributions, and collaborations with artists including David Bowie, Bono, Lenny Kravitz and Peter Tosh. The collection also features three previously unreleased tracks: “Too Many Cooks (Spoil The Soup),” produced by John Lennon and featuring an all-star line-up, as well as two tracks from Jagger’s Rick Rubin-produced “Wandering Spirit” sessions.
