“The Cult is back with its first new studio album in six years, “”Born Into This,”" set for release October 2nd by Roadrunner Records on the band’s new imprint label, New Wilderness.

The album was recorded this past spring in London, with producer Youth (Verve, Primal Scream), and the group will also issue a “”Born Into This–The Savage Edition,”" with five bonus tracks and a sticker.

The first single, “”Dirty Little Rock Star,”" is already out and sounds in line with past Cult classics that include “”She Sells Sanctuary,”" “”Rain,”" “”Wild Flower,”" “”Love Removal Machine,”" “”Lil’ Devil,”" “”Edie,”" “”The Witch,”" and “”Rise.”"

The Cult is still led by founding members vocalist Ian Astbury (who took a detour with Ray Manzarek and Robbie Kreiger for a few years as the voice of the new Doors) and guitarist Billy Duffy.
