Rosie O’Donnell is leaving The View after a tumultuous year that brought feuds with Donald Trump and tension with creator Barbara Walters but delivered the show its best ratings in years.

Walters enticed O’Donnell to return to television last year when she offered her a one-year deal as co-host of the daytime talker, filling the spot vacated by Star Jones last spring.

Speculation had been rampant over whether ABC would attempt to sign O’Donnell when her deal expires in June.
