Illegal Aliens

Anna Nicole Smiths Last Movie

The kind of movie you hate to love, “Illegal Aliens” is pretty much the train wreck you think it will be. (And oh so much more!)

Deliciously dreadful, “Illegal Aliens” is like something from the “Scary Movie” franchise meets a YouTube girl-fight: The story follows three smokin’ hot space alien babes Lucy (Anna Nicole Smith), Cameron (Lenise Sorén) and Drew (Gladys Jimenez)—any reference to “Charlie’s Angels” is purely intentional—and their gender-bending nemesis, the muscle-bound Rex (Joanie Laurer, AKA Chyna).

The shape-shifting (and shapely) creatures are fighting over some kind of gizmo that’s protected by a Charlie-meets-H.A.L.-like holographic supervisor named Syntax (Kevin McGuire). As the girls fight, the fur flies and the cleavage heaves. Plenty of on-the-cheap action is heaped with loads of sophomoric humor (the agents arrive on Earth in a spaceship with a bumper sticker that reads, “My Other Ride is Uranus”), slapped together with stock footage of big explosions and buffeted by hilariously bad acting that’s often captioned.

To say much more about the plot would not only spoil things, but it would give me a whopping headache. However, I will say that as a bad camp film, “Illegal Aliens” is a surprisingly watchable guilty pleasure.

Extras include filmmaker commentary, a making-of featurette, deleted scenes, and bloopers (however, my screener included none of these…I would actually have been interested in the yak track!).
